ING is a global financial institution providing services in the areas of banking, investments, life insurance and pensions.

For years ING has been a faithful partner of the Royal Dutch football association (KNVB) and a supporter of Dutch football. Bringing the World Cup to the Low Countries is both in the interests of the development of the Dutch and Belgian economies and of football itself. Football is the number one national sport in both nations and a major export product. In these turbulent times especially it is important for Dutch and Belgian entrepreneurs to get behind such an initiative in large numbers and invest for the long term.

Both countries are strong in terms of organisation and enterprise and can offer outstanding infrastructures. The game of football is avidly and widely followed by millions of Dutch and Belgian residents. For that reason ING is steeling itself for the World Cup Bid. ING, along with the two countries’ football associations and various partners, intends to do all it can in order to bring the 2018/2022 World Cup back to the Netherlands and Belgium.

Ambassador of the dayBettine Vriesekoop

"By hosting a FIFA World Cup™, Belgium and the Netherlands would be putting themselves on the international map. National consciousness would be given such a boost and it would be an opportunity for a new generation of Belgians and Dutch to show what society in 2018 is all about."
